The Military Technical Committee of Lebanon, in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Defense and Italian military missions in Lebanon, organized a major donation of the army’s medical materials, aiming to enhance its capabilities to provide health care to its elements in the current difficult circumstances.
The statement stated that the donation included about 30 tons of medical supplies with a value of approximately one and a half million euros, which included hospitals beds, safes, protective clothes, needles, surgical tools, mobile chairs, ophthalmology equipment, dental chairs, and walking devices for the elderly. The statement stressed that this equipment will contribute to improving the medical and health services of the army, noting that this donation is the largest that Italy provides to Lebanon in recent years. Dyoudato Abanara, Commander of the Advanced Task Force of the Military Technical Committee of Lebanon, Colonel Atlio Courtonie, and the commander of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission, Colonel Matteo Vitolano, as well as representatives of the local authorities and the media, in addition to the head of the military medicine, the administrative dean Danny Bashrawi and the first advisor at the Italian embassy Silvia Tosi, represented by the Italian ambassador. Lebanon was established in March 2024 on the initiative of the Italian Defense Chief of Staff, following the international developments after the events of October 7, 2023. The committee operates according to UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the subsequent decisions, including Resolution 2970 issued on August 28, 2025, in coordination with regional and international actors to support the army and internal security forces, and support the Lebanese people through humanitarian initiatives that benefit Lebanon And the region in terms of regional support and security.
