Under the patronage of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmed Al -Hajjar, the Modern University of Administration and Science (MBS) organized, in cooperation with the Educational Cultural Institute for Development and Research (CEIDR) and the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, a national conference entitled: “Education and National Security: Integrative approaches to building human and institutions”, in the presence of the Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, and prominent security, academic and educational figures.

The work of the conference was opened with the national anthem, followed by official words that unanimously agreed on “the necessity of integration between education and security in building a person and enhancing the protection of the country.” Then the scientific sessions were launched by the media, Joseph Ibrahim.
The first session entitled “Education for Sustainable Security”, moderated by Dr. Fadia Hussein, and included interventions of Professor Muhammad Ramal (USJ) on “the role of curricula in consolidating the values ​​of citizenship and peace”, Brigadier Joseph Muslim on “the importance of cooperation agreements between the security and educational forces”, and Dr. Tharwat Dilkan Munther on “the role of the parents in preventing violence”, and Dr. Hayam Lutfi who presented the vision of the modern university To support national security.
As for the second session, entitled “Cyberson and Digital Challenges”, it was managed by Dr. Fatima Halawani, and included interventions by Dr. Fuulia Makhzum on “the safe use of technology in education”, Major Elias Dagher from combating electronic crime on “digital threats”, and Professor Odin Salloum that dealt with “laws and challenges to protect learners.”
The final recommendations stressed “the integration of concepts of citizenship and civil peace in the curricula, enhancing cooperation between educational and security institutions, raising the awareness of parents of the dangers of digital space, setting a national policy for educational cyberspace security, and establishing a national observatory for national education and security.”
In conclusion, Judge Marwan Abboud and Dr. Hatem Alami presented shields of thanks and appreciation to the participants, in an atmosphere that confirmed that “national security starts from education, and the construction of a citizen fortified with science and values.”
