On Friday, US President Donald Trump expressed his “dissatisfaction” from the recent Russian strikes on Ukraine, including bombing targeting an American factory in the west of Mukatchivo, stressing that he is studying new sanctions on Moscow.
“I am not happy with that, and I am not happy with everything related to this war,” Trump said, in a brief interview with journalists at the Oval Office. He added that he gave himself a “two weeks” to take a decision on the conflict, explaining: “It will be a very important decision, and it may be huge sanctions or customs duties or both, or perhaps we will not do anything and say: It is your battle.” Trump had met Russian President Vladimir Putin a week ago in Alaska, then his Ukrainian counterpart Voludmir Zellinski in the White House on Monday. Trump is seeking to bring them to a negotiating table, but the possibility of holding the meeting appears to be “declining.” He also presented a photo he took with Putin in Alaska, and said that the Russian president sent her to him, adding: “I will sign it for him.”
