Moscow serves new British sanctions on digital currencies

Britain has announced that it will impose sanctions on eight individuals and entities that helped Russia to circumvent Western sanctions using money networks and digital currencies based in Kyrgyzstan. The British Foreign Ministry sanctions will target the Greenx and Mir digital currency platform British Stephen Dotti, in a statement on Wednesday, “If the Kremlin believes that he can hide his desperate attempts to alleviate our sanctions by washing transactions through suspicious digital currencies, it is completely wrong.” The British Foreign Ministry confirmed that the United Kingdom also targeted Capital Bank in Kyrgyzstan, and its manager Caeimir Chalbayev, which Russia uses to finance military equipment.
