In a statement, the National Committee for Tenants called for massive participation in the tenants’ sit-in scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, in Riad Solh Square, in rejection of what it described as “the unjust rulings issued based on a truncated and unbalanced law.”
The committee called for “freezing the implementation of this law and approving the law proposal submitted by a number of representatives in February 2026,” in a way that guarantees the rights of tenants and ensures a fair and balanced treatment of the rental crisis.
This move comes in light of the continuing controversy over the issue of rents and tenants’ rights, amid objections to the implications of the applicable law and demands for a new legislative treatment that balances rights and puts an end to the existing dispute over the mechanism of its implementation.
