The Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Muhammad Karki, confirmed that the Fund had adopted a plan since the beginning of the war that ensured the continued provision of services to citizens, explaining that residents of the areas where offices were closed were able to benefit from the services of any other center, stressing that the contributions “did not stop for a day during the war period.”
Karaki explained, in an interview with Al-Akhbar newspaper, that the Fund is gradually working to reopen its offices, balancing security considerations with the necessity of providing services where citizens are.
He pointed out that the Fund’s Board of Directors took a decision more than 15 days ago to begin rehabilitating the insurance office in Tyre, which was damaged by the war, pointing out that the owner of the building was informed of the necessity of starting maintenance work.
He added that the repair work is scheduled to begin at the beginning of the week, and that the office will gradually reopen over the next 10 days, given that the building consists of two floors, so that it will be restarted in stages to accelerate its return to service.
