President Aoun: Lebanon is sticking to the survival of UNIFIL in the south

The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, the commander of the international force operating in the south (UNIFIL), told General Diodato Abagnara Dyodato Abanara, while receiving him before this afternoon at Baabda Palace, “Lebanon is adhering to the survival of the international force in the south in the period required by the implementation of Resolution 1701 in its full grades and the completion of the spread of the Lebanese army until the international borders.”
President Aoun affirmed, “Lebanon has started contacts with the member states of the UN Security Council, and the sister and friendly countries to secure the extension of“ UNIFIL ”due to Lebanon’s need for it on the one hand, and the necessity of preserving security and stability in the south and keeping pace with the army’s positioning after the government’s decision to increase the Lebanese forces operating in the south to 10 thousand soldiers, and this requires cooperation with“ UNIFIL ”that carry out its full duties and spread in several towns and sites that are important In preserving security in the south, and therefore any time limit for the assignment of “UNIFIL” is different from the actual need for it will negatively affect the situation in the south, which is still suffering from.
President Aoun stressed the “importance of the existing cooperation between the army and UNIFIL, in particular, noting the relations between the international force and the people of the southern towns and villages who receive all the attention, health, social and educational care of the forces participating in” UNIFIL “.
General Aburara, who was accompanied by his political advisor, HERVE LECOQ circulated with President Aoun in the current situation in the south and the work of the international force and the ongoing deliberations at the United Nations in preparation for the extension of the “UNIFIL” scheduled next week. President Aoun also received the head of the Works and Transport Committee, MP Sajie Attia, who spoke, after the meeting, saying: “Our session with His Excellency the President was practical, effective and working Positive. Ambassador Geto presented to President Aoun a memorial photo representing the day of announcing the start of diplomatic relations between the two countries 80 years ago, which was taken in the Republican Palace in Uruguay and gathered Uruguayan President at the time with the ministers and faces of the Lebanese community there. Al -Sabali talked about the importance of the shift to the economy of knowledge and artificial intelligence, pointing out that “this transformation cannot be limited to one ministry, but rather an integrated national project that requires coordination between several ministries such as artificial intelligence, education, work, administrative development, communications, social affairs, health, external, etc. and requires the participation of universities, research centers, the private sector, unions, and expert bodies, within one vision and a work framework It is clear and effective, so that the work does not remain dispersed and gives the impression of the lack of seriousness in the events of this qualitative shift in the economy and the strategic role.
Al -Sabali proposed the establishment of the “Supreme Council for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence” headed by the President of the Republic, and includes all the aforementioned parties to be the supreme national reference for this transformation coordinating between all parties and seeks to issue an integrated package of necessary legislation, and sets a comprehensive executive road map, which contributes to bringing Lebanon out of its crises, and restores its role in the Arab Mashreq and the world as an advanced, scientific and economic radiation center. ” President Aoun, welcome to the delegation, noting the direction announced by the head of the Foundation, especially the focus on digital transformation and artificial intelligence, noting that “the digital issue pays a fundamental attention and that work is underway to complete the e -government project and benefit from the experiences of the Lebanese at home and abroad.”
