In a new step within the movements undertaken by a number of young people from the Al-Tabbaneh area in Tripoli to confront the spread of drugs, a number of them yesterday arrested a person suspected of promoting narcotic substances within the region.
The young men were able to arrest the suspect inside the area, where he was seized and handcuffed along with the materials he was in possession of. They also photographed the incident, before handing him over to the security authorities who received him, in preparation for taking the necessary legal measures and opening an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the case.
This step comes in the context of an initiative undertaken by a number of young people in Al-Tabbaneh for some time, with the aim of reducing the spread of the drug scourge within the region, by monitoring suspected dealers and handing them over to the security services, in an attempt to reduce the impact of this phenomenon on the people of the region, especially the youth.
Last month, a number of young men from Al-Tabbaneh arrested one of the most prominent drug dealers in the region, before handing him over to the security services, as part of similar movements to confront the spread of this scourge.
