Anti-hacking screen stickers: protection or just an illusion?

“Anti-intrusion screen stickers” have become a popular choice for phone and computer users who are keen on their privacy in public places, but how does this technology work and how effective is it?

These stickers rely on the “micro-polarizing filter” technology, which works with a mechanism similar to microscopic curtains installed inside the layers of the screen, allowing light to pass only to those looking directly at the screen, while blocking the vision of those around you, leaving them with a black color or a blurry appearance when they try to look from the side angles.

These stickers provide a high level of protection against intruders in crowded places such as transportation or offices, as they make it very difficult to read texts or see images from the sides. However, there are aspects to take into consideration, it only protects from intruders sitting next to you and does not protect your privacy from cameras or the person standing directly behind you.

It may also slightly reduce the brightness of the screen, forcing the user to raise the lighting, which affects battery consumption, in addition to the appearance of a subtle retinal effect that the user may notice when looking at the screen from a close distance.

In summary, these stickers are a practical solution to enhance visual privacy in public places, but they are not a magic solution for digital protection.
