In a statement on the occasion of the movement’s Martyr’s Day, the Amal Movement’s political office confirmed its categorical rejection of what it described as the “framework agreement,” considering that the “experimental areas” and provisions it contains, including the secret annex, aim to transform the Lebanese army into “a judicial police in the service of Israeli agendas and projects.”
The movement stressed that the Lebanese Army, with its leadership, officers and personnel, “is the national bet” and “a red line that cannot be crossed under any heading or circumstance,” affirming its adherence to its role as a unifying national institution.
It also considered that the Israeli attacks on Lebanon target the entire country, and not a specific region or sect, calling for their immediate end, obliging Israel to withdraw unconditionally from Lebanese territory, and deploying the Lebanese army in the areas from which it withdraws, in implementation of the ceasefire agreement concluded in **November 2024**.
The movement affirmed its refusal to exploit the field events for internal political purposes, or to serve what it described as Israeli goals, stressing that it would confront this “with all available legal and constitutional methods.”
In the same context, the “Amal” movement believed that the crimes committed by Israel during the war do not have a statute of limitations and cannot be expunged or bypassed in any agreement, considering that they constitute war crimes that require prosecution and accountability.
The movement concluded its statement by calling on all Lebanese to reject hate speech and incitement, give priority to common national denominators, and preserve Lebanon’s unity and sovereignty, as “the final homeland for all its people.”
