On Monday, the Hama movement received a new suggestion for the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which includes a two -month truce in exchange for the release of Israeli prisoners.
A Palestinian official informed to Agence France -Presse that the movement’s delegation, headed by Khalil al -Hayya, who is in Cairo, received the proposal from the Egyptian and Qatari intermediaries. He explained that the new initiative “is based on the proposal of the American envoy Steve Whitchov, which provides for a sixty -day truce, during which the Israeli prisoners are released in two batches.” The source added that this proposal is a “framework agreement” that paves the way to unleash indirect negotiations between Hama and Israel, with the aim of reaching a permanent ceasefire in the sector.
