Ronaldo surpasses Messi with an unprecedented historical record. This is what he did in his last match

Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player in history to score goals in six different editions of the World Cup, after he scored against Uzbekistan against Portugal on Monday in the second round of the group stage.

Ronaldo, 41, scored his goal in the sixth minute, when he followed a perfect cross from the right side sent by Joao Cancelo, putting the ball into the net from close range.

Ronaldo raised his tally to nine goals in the World Cup across the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022 and 2026 editions. His first goal in the tournament came more than 20 years ago from a penalty kick against Iran.

Ronaldo played his 24th World Cup match against Uzbekistan, and he is participating alongside Argentine captain Lionel Messi in a record number of playing in six editions of the World Cup.
Messi holds the record for the number of matches in the World Cup with 28 matches, and on Monday he also held the record for the number of goals in the tournament after raising his tally to 18 goals since his first appearance in the 2006 edition, but Messi did not score in all the editions in which he participated, as he failed to score during the 2010 World Cup.

As for Ronaldo, he raised his international tally to 144 goals in 230 international matches, which are two world records.
