US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States expects to reach a complete ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon, within the framework of the path launched by the memorandum of understanding signed between Washington and Tehran.

Trump said that his country is “committed to peace,” calling on all parties to continue their commitment to allow negotiations to move forward toward a final agreement during the next stage.

In new statements, the US President stressed that what matters to the United States is achieving success, reducing oil prices, and achieving what he described as “victory,” considering that economic indicators, especially the performance of the stock market, reflect the success of his administration’s policies.

Trump also denied reports that the United States provided $300 billion to Iran, describing this information as “fake news,” and stressing that Washington had not provided any financial payment of this size to Tehran.

Trump’s statements come in light of the start of the sixty-day deadline stipulated in the US-Iranian memorandum of understanding, which is supposed to witness negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement that addresses several regional issues, including stopping military operations on various fronts, including the Lebanese arena.
