Sony is testing a new change in the way it launches games for the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium services, starting with the June 2026 list of games, in a move that may not be widely welcomed by subscribers.

According to the “GameRant” website, all new games will not be added in one day as usual, as this time they will be released in batches during the month. It seems that the change will include specific markets such as the United States, Britain, and Japan, while other regions will receive the games all at once in the usual way.

Under this amendment, some PlayStation Plus subscribers will have to wait a longer period to try a number of new games, which may dissatisfy players who are accustomed to receiving the entire list in one appointment.

As part of the new change, one of June’s games was made available early, as the game “Sonic X Shadow Generations” is now available to subscribers of the service.

As for the next batch, it will arrive on June 16, and includes the game “Final Fantasy 16” in the “Extra” category, along with “Gitaroo Man” in the “Premium” category.

On June 23, the games “Kingdom Come: Deliverance” and “Life is Strange: Double Exposure” will be added, and the games “Black Desert,” “Blades of Fire,” and “Farming Simulator 25” will arrive on June 30.

Thus, the change is not related to the content of the list itself as much as it is related to the way the games are distributed chronologically, which may make the experience less attractive for subscribers who were waiting to obtain all the titles at once.
