The first Lebanese woman, Neamat Aoun, expressed her hope that the displaced people from the south would return to their villages and homes very soon, stressing that the true image of Lebanon is the image of love, solidarity, and message.
Mrs. Aoun’s words came during a visit she made this afternoon to the center of the “Ambition” Association (Society for Specialization and Scientific Guidance), where she was received by members of the Board of Directors and the work team, with the aim of reviewing the programs and initiatives implemented by the Association in the fields of education, social care and humanitarian relief.
The meeting began with a welcome speech delivered by Randali Qassem, a member of the Society for Social Development, in which she welcomed the First Lady and thanked her for her visit and her interest in the Society’s mission. It also provided an overview of the association’s journey, which was founded in 1969 and contributed to the graduation of more than 4,700 male and female students and cares for more than 14,700 orphans.
She pointed out that “Tomouh for Social Development” is the social arm of the association, and continues to implement its humanitarian programs in various Lebanese regions. Since the outbreak of the war, it has provided more than 233,000 meals, and more than 50,000 shares of food and medical aid, hygiene supplies, and basic needs, in addition to educational, recreational, and sports programs for children.
Qassem also sent a message to the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, in which she affirmed that the Lebanese still cling to hope for a unified Lebanon throughout its entire territory, and for the return of the people to their villages and homes in dignity and safety.
The visit included a tour of the center’s departments, where the First Lady met with 137 displaced children from Al-Zahraa, Fakhreddine, and PMC Zoqaq El-Blat schools, in addition to 30 families. She participated in the recreational activities organized for the children in cooperation with “Mini Studio,” and listened to their conversations, aspirations, and wishes for the future.
She addressed the children by saying: “I see joy in your eyes despite the tragedies we are experiencing, and God willing, we will see you soon in your homes, playing with your toys, celebrating the fulfillment of your dreams, and building your future like all children in the world.”
She added: “I address the people to say that I respect your sacrifices, and I assure you that you will return to your land, the land of the South, the land of kindness and generosity, the land of pride and dignity, and, God willing, the return will be soon.”
She continued: “Thank you, the Ambition Foundation, which made me share this occasion with you and the children, and thank you for sowing hope and joy, and thank you for showing the true image of Lebanon, the image of love, solidarity, and message.”
At the conclusion of the visit, the association’s management and members of its board of directors expressed their thanks and appreciation to the First Lady for this visit, considering that it constitutes important support for the association’s humanitarian and social mission, and an additional incentive to continue serving the most needy groups in Lebanon.
