The representative of the Hezbollah bloc, Hassan Fadlallah, confirmed the party’s support for a complete ceasefire on Lebanese territory, considering that consolidating the truce must be accompanied by the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.

In statements to Reuters, Fadlallah said that a complete ceasefire would be a prelude to the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Lebanese territories, stressing that this path constitutes an essential entry point to address the current situation on the southern front.

He added that Hezbollah supports a complete ceasefire on all Lebanese territories, in a position that comes amid intensifying political and diplomatic efforts aimed at containing the escalation and preventing the expansion of the confrontation.

Fadlallah’s statements come hours after US President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire understanding had been reached between Israel and Hezbollah through mediators and representatives, coinciding with reports of American pressure that prevented the implementation of a massive Israeli strike targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut.

It also coincides with an accelerating political movement on more than one level, amid continuing American and regional contacts aimed at consolidating the calm and opening the door to broader arrangements related to the security situation in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese file is witnessing a delicate phase in light of the continued Israeli raids and military operations in the south, in parallel with international efforts to impose a comprehensive ceasefire and prevent the collapse of the existing understandings between the parties concerned.
