Barak causes a “political earthquake” before leaving

The words of the temporary American envoy to Lebanon, Tom Barak, about the existence of “a willingness for some Lebanese to normalize with Israel”, sparked a similar “political earthquake”, although until now it is confined to closed political councils.
Barak’s statement came during a short retreat with the journalists, before leaving Lebanese territory, saying that “there are Lebanese officials who support normalization with Israel,” which led some to search for the names of these officials, and check the meetings that Barak held during his visit to Beirut.
The attention was focused in particular on the dinner party held by the head of the National Dialogue Party, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, in honor of Barak, which was attended by a large number of political, parliamentary and party figures from various directions. The meeting witnessed an extensive political discussion between Barak and the attendees.
