The weapon of attack drones returned to the forefront of the confrontation on the southern front, after Hezbollah announced the implementation of a series of operations against Israeli army sites, vehicles, and concentrations, coinciding with Israeli reports about the launch of dozens of drones from Lebanon towards the Upper Galilee, and some of them exploding inside Israeli territory.

In a remarkable development, Hezbollah’s military media published video clips that it said documented the targeting of a military tank belonging to the Israeli army in the city of Bint Jbeil, on 05-14-2026, using the “Ababil” attack helicopters, in addition to scenes from the stages of reconnaissance and targeting of a new position for the Israeli army in the town of Bayyada, southern Lebanon, with “Ababil” attack helicopters and various weapons.

In successive statements, Hezbollah announced that it had targeted, at 10:45 on Monday, a gathering of Israeli army soldiers at the newly created site in Jal al-Hamar, south of the town of Al-Adissa, with a swarm of assault drones, confirming that a direct hit had been achieved.

He also announced that he had targeted, at 11:10, a Merkava tank belonging to the Israeli army in the town of Dibal in the “Ababil” attack range, achieving a direct hit, before announcing in a third statement that he had targeted a second Merkava tank in the same town at 11:30 in the same range.

At 12:15, Hezbollah announced the targeting of the Israeli army’s artillery position in the town of Al-Adisa in the “Ababil” assault ring, in a clear continuation of the use of this type of weapon against the newly developed sites and Israeli military movements.

In the evening, the party announced that it had targeted, at 15:55, a gathering of Israeli army vehicles and soldiers in the town of Al-Quzah with a missile attack, before it announced at 16:15 that it had targeted another gathering of Israeli army vehicles and soldiers in the town of Rashaf with a missile attack.

On the other hand, the Israeli Home Front reported that two explosive drones exploded inside Israeli territory in the Ramim Hills area within one hour, while Israeli media reported that Hezbollah had launched 30 drones since the morning targeting towns in the Upper Galilee.

Israeli media also reported intercepting a drone in Misgav Am in the eastern sector of the border with Lebanon, while the Israeli Home Front announced the sounding of sirens in Zarit in the Western Galilee after detecting a drone from Lebanon.

In turn, the Israeli army said that Hezbollah launched explosive drones towards its forces and border towns, noting that one of them exploded in Metulla, and that an investigation into the incident is underway.

Israeli media reported that rescue forces and firefighting teams headed to a building in Metulla after it was directly hit by a bomb-laden drone.

These developments reflect the transition of the confrontation to a more complex level, as the attack drones have become an element of pressure on the Israeli monitoring and interception systems, while Hezbollah continues to target the newly developed sites and military vehicles along the front. With the repeated warnings in the Upper Galilee, and the recording of direct casualties inside border settlements, the southern front appears to be facing a moving field equation, the most prominent title of which is: the expansion of the use of drones and missiles in a confrontation in which each party is trying to install new bases under the ceiling of the current escalation.
