Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, MP Ihab Hamadeh, raised the ceiling of the political stance in the face of the Lebanese authority and the United States, considering that what he called the “theatrical negotiations” no longer existed between two parties, Lebanese and Israeli, but rather, as he put it, had turned into a path controlled by one party.

Hamadeh said, during a memorial celebration in the locality of Sharawneh in the city of Baalbek, commemorating the fortieth anniversary of the martyr Ali Salah Jaafar, that “practically there is one Zionist-American party, and the Lebanese present is a vessel for receiving orders and dictates,” considering that this proves that “the American does not pay attention or give weight to those who pant to their enemy to kill their people.”

Addressing the Lebanese authority and “partners in the nation,” he added: “Our hand is still extended to you,” calling on the authority to “return to its senses and to its people,” because, in his words, it is “gambling with Lebanon and Lebanon’s existence.”

Hamadeh believed that “the illusion of reaching a stage in which Lebanon can be provided for free as part of Greater Israel has ended,” stressing that the resistance is still confronting Israeli forces daily, and, according to him, causing losses among its ranks, including dead and wounded, considering that “Israel’s attrition is expanding.”

Hamadeh touched on the recent US sanctions list, explaining that “Hezbollah and the Amal Movement understand the sanctions on leaders,” but he considered that “what is new are the sanctions on officers,” noting that this carries political and security messages related, in his opinion, to placing state institutions and agencies on the “map of the goals of the Zionist project.”

In this context, Hamadeh linked the US sanctions to the US Secretary of State’s talk about forming a brigade to disarm the resistance, considering that this proposal comes within a pressure path that targets the resistance and its environment, and extends to state institutions.

The ceremony concluded with a Hosseini funeral council for Sheikh Khairuddin Sharif.

Hamadeh’s position comes in light of the heated internal debate about the future of Hezbollah’s weapons, the path of indirect negotiation, and the increasing American pressure on Lebanon under the title of restricting weapons to the state. This position also intersects with the escalation of the political debate over the role of the Lebanese authority in managing the stage, between those who believe that the state’s priority must be to prevent the expansion of confrontation and stabilize stability, and those who consider that any discussion of the weapons issue or negotiations cannot be separated from the continuation of Israeli attacks, withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories, and implementation of Resolution 1701 in a balanced manner.
