The luxury car market is witnessing a remarkable transformation with the strong entry of Chinese companies into this sector, after unveiling the luxury sedan “Maextro S800”, which aims to compete with prominent European brands such as Rolls Royce and Mercedes Maybach, by combining traditional luxury with modern technologies at a much lower price.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the car is produced in the Chinese city of Hefei within a manufacturing system that relies on more than a thousand industrial robots, with the integration of advanced technologies from Huawei into operating systems, self-driving, and entertainment.

The developing companies aim to redefine the concept of luxury in cars by transforming it into an integrated digital experience based on artificial intelligence and software, instead of focusing on the traditional form only.

The car is approximately 18 feet long, with a two-tone design, a luxurious interior with fine leather, a huge 40-inch rear screen, an audio system that includes about 40 speakers, in addition to fully reclining rear seats with a massage feature and a roof with lighting that simulates the starry sky.

Prices for the “Maextro S800” start at about $104,000 and reach $173,000 for the most equipped versions, that is, about half the price of some Mercedes Maybach models and a small part of the cost of a Rolls-Royce, which gives it a strong competitive advantage.

Despite this, the car is still competitive in terms of driving quality compared to European standards, while company data indicate that more than 17,000 cars were delivered within just one year of launch, with future plans to expand outside the Chinese market despite the geopolitical challenges.
