“Lebanon Debate”
A fire broke out inside a residential apartment in the Bouchrieh Sad area – Matn, which led to a state of alert in the place, amid heavy smoke and rapid intervention by fire brigades to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the building.
The Lebanon Debate correspondent reported that the fire broke out inside an apartment located on the first floor of one of the residential buildings in the area. Fire engines immediately rushed to the place and began firefighting operations.
According to preliminary information, the causes of the fire are still unknown until now, while the civil defense and firefighting teams continue their operations inside the building to ensure complete control of the fire and prevent its recurrence.
The Lebanon Debate correspondent indicated that the density of smoke emanating from the fire caused some health symptoms and mild cases of suffocation among a number of residents of the building and neighboring buildings, as a result of the smoke spreading around the area.
The area witnessed a gathering of people amid security and organizational measures to facilitate the work of firefighting and ambulance teams, while no confirmed information has yet been recorded about serious injuries.
This fire brings back to the forefront the fears associated with fires inside crowded residential buildings, especially with the rapid spread of smoke inside closed buildings and the accompanying danger to residents, which requires rapid intervention from rescue and firefighting teams to avoid human losses or the expansion of the fire.
