Apple is preparing to launch a comprehensive and fateful update to its voice assistant “Siri” within the iOS 27 operating system, in a move aimed at re-presenting it as a direct competitor to generative artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, after years of criticism regarding its technical delay.

New leaks reveal that Siri will turn into an integrated interactive conversation experience, through a scrollable chat interface that allows users to view brief information cards for the weather, calendar, and data related to inquiries.

The company is working on developing an independent application for Siri that allows you to follow up on previous conversations and start new ones with complete flexibility in entering texts or sounds within the same interface. The system will also witness deep integration with the dynamic island, which will display visual indicators and animated lighting while processing requests, followed by a transparent panel to display the results that can be dragged to move to full conversation mode.

Apple also plans to introduce a comprehensive system-wide search feature called Search or Ask that will allow the Assistant to be accessed from any screen, in addition to enabling it to read context and data within applications to perform complex tasks such as summarizing content and managing appointments with unprecedented efficiency.
