The distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan launched a sharp attack on the course of the ongoing negotiations with Israel, considering that what is being cooked in the negotiating rooms aims to “push the Lebanese army in the face of its own people,” warning of “an American-Israeli project to blow up Lebanon internally.”
In the “Friday Message,” Kabalan considered that the Lebanese authority “is living in a complex of its deadly dependency on Washington,” saying that direct negotiation with Israel “puts Lebanon’s sovereign head on the table,” describing what is happening as “more free sovereign concessions.”
He believed that “the most dangerous thing lies in an American-Zionist plan of action whose goal is to push the Lebanese army against the resistance and the people,” considering that “the idea of gradual withdrawal” comes within arrangements intended to be imposed on Lebanon for the benefit of Washington and Tel Aviv.
Qabalan said that “negotiating under fire is surrender,” warning that what the authority is committed to “threatens civil peace,” stressing that “Lebanon’s strength lies in its internal unity and its ability to secure the fronts, not in political surrender.”
He also accused the Lebanese authority of “abandoning its sovereign duties,” considering that it prevents the Lebanese army from “carrying out its defensive tasks,” while stressing that “resistance is a sovereign necessity and a major guarantee for Lebanon.”
