Flick’s response came after Barcelona lost to Alaves 1-0 in the Spanish League, a result that ended the Catalan team’s hopes of reaching 100 points this season.
When asked about Perez’s statements, the German coach only responded briefly, saying: “I think this is something that is not worth responding to.”
Away from the controversy, Flick expressed his frustration with the loss to Alaves, especially since his team conceded the only goal of the match in stoppage time of the first half.
He said: “Of course I am disappointed with the result, but we have to accept that, because we played against an opponent fighting for survival and made the match very difficult.”
He added: “We conceded a goal in the last minute of the first half, and we should have been more focused.”
Flick pointed to some positive aspects, including giving opportunities to young players and managing playing minutes for players who have recently suffered from the pressure of matches.
He concluded by confirming that Barcelona is seeking to end the season with two victories in the last two rounds of La Liga, despite losing the dream of reaching 100 points.
