The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Corporation for the Promotion of Investments in Lebanon (IDAL), Dr. Majid Mneimneh, met with the Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority, Judge Jean Alaïa, in the presence of members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance institutional work in accordance with the Public Procurement Law, which provides a modern framework based on transparency, equal opportunities, and encouraging competition, in a way that consolidates the principles of integrity and good management of public funds. The two sides also reviewed the authority’s role in regulating purchasing operations by setting unified standards, adopting electronic platforms, and enhancing oversight.

The attendees stressed the importance of cooperation between IDAL and the Public Procurement Authority to simplify procedures related to investment projects and raise the level of transparency in commitments and contracts, which contributes to enhancing the confidence of local and international investors and improving the business environment in Lebanon.

The meeting stressed the need to align IDAL’s work mechanisms with the best public procurement practices, to ensure greater effectiveness in attracting investments within a clear and stable legal environment.
