Raids targeting the southern suburbs: Israel increases the scope of its targets in Beirut

The Israeli army announced the start of raids targeting Hezbollah infrastructure sites in Beirut, early Saturday morning.

In this regard, Agence France-Presse reported that the southern suburb was bombed at least twice during the early hours of dawn.

Information reported that one of the raids had earlier targeted the vicinity of Sayyed Hadi Nasrallah Highway, and it was revealed that the latest raid was the fifth to hit the area in the past few hours, after the last warning issued by the Israeli army to the residents of the suburb.

For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation stated that the army continues to attack Hezbollah’s infrastructure in Beirut, as part of what it described as expanding the scope of military operations deep inside Lebanon.

These developments come in light of the ongoing military escalation between Israel and Hezbollah, as the past hours witnessed a series of Israeli raids on various areas in Lebanon, especially in the south, the Bekaa and the southern suburbs of Beirut, in conjunction with repeated Israeli warnings to residents of the need to stay away from sites that it claims are used for military purposes.

The Israeli army had previously issued direct warnings to residents of the southern suburb, urging them to evacuate immediately.
