Karaki announces the completion of settlements worth 41 billion liras and the provision of 181 billion financial advances to hospitals and doctors

The Directorate of Public Relations at the National Social Security Fund issued a statement in which it explained that based on the results of the recent meeting with the head of the Syndicate of Private Hospitals in Lebanon, during which he promised to implement some demands starting at the beginning of this week, the Director General of the Fund, Dr. Muhammad Karaki to activate these commitments. The Fund’s Board of Directors Decision No. 1478, taken in session No. 1151 on 3/27/2026, was referred to the Minister of Labor for approval. The decision stipulates the approval of concluding reconciliation contracts and releasing three hospitals, namely “Dar Al-Amal University”, “Al-Assi”, and “Keserouan Medical Center”, for financial dues dating back to before the year 2024.

Karki called on the hospitals that contract with the Fund and have financial dues from it to quickly submit their requests in accordance with the approved procedures, with the aim of completing the necessary settlements and disbursing their dues. He also issued a decision dated 3/31/2026, No. 209, granting financial advances to hospitals and doctors contracting with the Fund, amounting to 181 billion Lebanese pounds, in compliance with his ongoing promises to support the hospital sector in all possible ways, ensuring the continuity of providing services to those insured, and accelerating the process of paying hospital dues.

These advances were allocated to pay the dues of 2,878 hospital transactions for treatments provided to the insured and completed in accordance with the rules, in a step aimed at supporting the financial liquidity of hospital institutions and reducing the burdens on them. This decision also represents a continuation of the approach followed by the Fund’s management in accelerating the pace of payments to hospitals, as the total advances paid during the first quarter of the year 2026 amounted to about 907 billion Lebanese pounds.

In conclusion, Karaki stressed that he “will continue to follow up on all the demands presented, and will work to address them successively and responsibly, with the aim of achieving them fully, in the interest of the hospitals and ensuring the health of the patients and their continued access to decent, safe and high-quality hospital services.”
