In light of the continuing escalation on the Lebanese front, the Israeli army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, directed sharp criticism at Hezbollah, accusing it of seeking to boost the morale of its supporters through what he described as “propaganda tools.”
In a blog post on the “X” platform, “Adraee” believed that what he called “the school of blood trading” would not affect the balance of power in the conflict, adding that “the sin that started from them was the beginning of the end of the axis of evil that the party is promoting.”
He stressed that Israel is “strong, alive, and determined to end this threat,” stressing that the Israeli response “will not only be tough, but will eradicate everyone who threatens our security,” he said. He added, “History will record that their illusions of destroying a million tanks were fuel for their doom.”
This statement comes at a time when clashes continue between the Israeli army and Hezbollah along the southern border, with both sides exchanging rocket fire and launching air strikes, in addition to limited ground operations in some areas.
During the past few days, Israel has expanded the scope of its strikes in southern Lebanon, targeting sites it claims belong to Hezbollah, while the party announced carrying out missile and drone attacks on Israeli sites and bases in the north.
Adraee’s speech is considered part of an Israeli media campaign parallel to the military operations, while fears are increasing about the deterioration of the situation towards a broader conflict in the region, amid international efforts to reduce the escalation.
