At Baabda Palace, the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, met Monday morning with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, as part of a series of political consultations taking place against the backdrop of increasing tension with Israel.
After the meeting, President Berri left the presidential palace without saying anything.
This meeting comes in light of the successive field developments taking place in Lebanon and the region, with the continuing clashes between Israel and Hezbollah on the southern front. These confrontations witnessed a noticeable escalation, represented by an increase in the intensity of air strikes that targeted areas in the south and the Bekaa, coinciding with the launching of missiles from Lebanon towards Israeli sites.
In addition, operations continue to target infrastructure, especially bridges and crossings over the Litani River, in an attempt to obstruct supply and transportation lines, which further complicates the field and humanitarian situation.
