A quartet restores prestige... Paris Saint-Germain crushes Nice and regains the lead

After its recent stumble against Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain regained its balance in the French League with a crushing victory over Nice by four clean goals in the twenty-seventh round, returning directly to the top of the table.

Nuno Mendes opened the scoring for the Parisian team from a penalty kick in the 42nd minute, then Desiree Douy added the second goal at the beginning of the second half with a pass from Mendes, before newcomer Drew Fernandez scored his first goal with Paris, and Warren Zaire Emery concluded the goal festival in the final minutes.

Nice’s troubles increased with the expulsion of Youssef Ndayishimiye in the 61st minute, which gave Paris clear control of the field, helped them extend the gap and settle the match easily in the last quarter of an hour.

With this victory, Paris Saint-Germain’s tally rose to 60 points from 26 matches, one point ahead of Lens, who played a match more, while Nice remained at 27 points in a dangerous area close to the relegation struggle.

This victory represents a strong message that Paris is still in control of the local competition, especially after the few days that followed the continental qualification, confirming its ability to quickly recover locally as well.
