The official spokesman for the Israeli army issued an urgent warning to residents of the area south of the Zahrani River in southern Lebanon, asking them to evacuate their homes immediately and head north, due to continuing military operations in the area.
In a statement published on his “X” account, the spokesman explained that Hezbollah’s activities “force the army to act forcefully against it,” while emphasizing that the army “does not intend to harm civilians.” However, he strongly warned that the raids are continuing, and that being south of the Zahrani River may pose a danger to the lives of residents and their families.
The statement stressed that any person present near Hezbollah members, their positions, or their combat equipment puts his life in danger, calling for immediate movement to areas north of the river, and warning against any movements towards the south.
This warning comes in light of the continuing escalation of field events on the southern front, where multiple areas in the south are witnessing mutual raids and bombardments as part of the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah.
In recent days, southern regions have witnessed an increase in displacement, with the scope of targeting expanding to include towns and villages located north of areas that were previously considered outside the scope of direct operations.
The Zahrani River is considered an important geographical landmark in the south, and its field importance increases in light of repeated Israeli warnings linking military operations to specific geographical areas.
