Two representatives warn of the worsening displacement crisis and strict security measures to prevent partisan slogans

Representative Sami Gemayel, head of the Phalange Party, and Representative Elias Hankash, representatives of the Phalange in the northern Matn district, issued a statement declaring their full solidarity with the displaced, affirming their support for them in light of the current circumstances, based on the humanitarian and nationalist principles for which the region and its residents have long been known.

On the other hand, the two representatives drew attention to the fact that the Northern Matn has reached its maximum capacity, which requires the activation of specific organizational and security measures aimed at ensuring good management of the situation and maintaining security.

Gemayel and Hankash called on the Lebanese Army and security forces to increase their field presence by establishing fixed checkpoints and conducting patrols throughout the northern Matn, while emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the security forces and the municipal police to strengthen control over the situation and respond immediately to any developments.

They also stressed the necessity of preventing the raising of “partisan slogans” or any provocative manifestations inside or around the residence centers, to avoid any problems.

The two representatives called on the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities to issue an explicit decision prohibiting the use of “dark glass” in cars during this period, and restricting it to the cars of “official officials,” in order to facilitate the work of the security forces.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that these measures come in the context of concern for the protection of all residents of the region, whether local or displaced.
