
The Chinese national team reserved its place in the semi-finals of the Women’s Asian Cup currently being held in Australia, after defeating the Taiwan national team with a score of 2-0 in extra time of the quarter-final match that was held on Saturday.
During the regular time of the match, the Chinese team dominated the game, but was unable to find the net.
In the two extra halves, the Chinese team was able to secure victory by scoring two goals, the first by “Shao Ziqin” in the 94th minute, and the second by friendly fire from “China Taipei” national team player “Chen Ying-hui” in the 118th minute.
Thus, the Chinese team will face Australia in the semi-finals next Tuesday, which defeated North Korea 2-1 last Friday.
On the other hand, the Taiwan national team will head to the Gold Coast to face North Korea on Thursday in the qualifying round for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
It should be noted that the top six teams in this tournament will qualify to represent the Asian continent in the 2027 Women’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
