The Minister of Justice, Adel Nassar, told Al Jazeera, stressing that the government completely excludes any possibility of an armed confrontation between Hezbollah and the Lebanese National Army, considering that no person or group can challenge the Lebanese Army.
Nassar also stated that the army presented a plan aimed at restricting and disarming weapons and prosecuting anyone who participates in any unofficial military activity, stressing that political support for Hezbollah’s military activities has ended, that the “gray situation” no longer exists, and that anyone who contributes to the party’s military activities puts himself in front of the law.
The minister stressed that the Lebanese government stresses that any military action carried out by Hezbollah no longer receives any support at all, considering that launching missiles at Israel was a “grave mistake” and endangered the Lebanese people.
In the context of his talk about the Cabinet session, the Minister of Justice explained that the Amal Movement ministers voted in favor of the decision, while Hezbollah ministers opposed the decision to ban its military activities, but they did not withdraw from the session, noting that the decision was issued in the presence of all ministers, with objections recorded from some of them.
