Hezbollah issued an official statement declaring mourning the passing of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Ali al-Husseini Khamenei, beginning with a Quranic verse.

The statement described Khamenei as “the sun that gives light,” and mourned him as “the righteous servant, the saint, the jurist, the leader and the inspiration of the nation,” stressing that he had moved to the side of his Lord “to be one of the greatest leaders of the nation’s martyrs,” after a long life he spent leading the Islamic Republic of Iran and serving what he described as the causes of the oppressed in the world.

The statement also stated that the issue of liberating Palestine and supporting the Palestinian people was, according to what it stated, a fundamental focus of his concerns, noting that he had devoted huge efforts and the lives of leaders and fighters to it.

The party confirmed that Khamenei was martyred “at the hands of the Israelis and Americans during the month of Ramadan,” stressing that he strengthened the foundations of the Islamic Republic and consolidated its foundations, making it a “powerful, dear, and present state in the fields of knowledge, work, jihad, and resistance,” and transferred it “from victory to victory.”

The party offered its condolences to “the owner of the era and time,” to the religious authorities, the seminaries, the Iranian people, the government of the Islamic Republic, the Revolutionary Guards, the Iranian parliament, and his family, in addition to the Islamic nation and all the free people of the world.

The party also blessed what it described as its “blessed martyrdom” and the testimony of those who were martyred with it as a result of the American and Israeli raids on Tehran, stressing its firm commitment to continuing jihad and resistance, and standing by the Islamic Republic’s leadership, government, Revolutionary Guards, army, and people “until achieving complete final victory.”
