A few hours after the US federal government announced it would stop using artificial intelligence tools produced by the technology company Anthropic, President Donald Trump launched a large-scale air attack in Iran using those same tools.

According to what informed sources confirmed to the Wall Street Journal, military commands around the world, including the US Central Command in the Middle East, are using Anthropic’s “Cloud” artificial intelligence tool.

The sources explained that the leadership uses this tool for tasks such as evaluating intelligence information, identifying potential targets, and conducting simulations of various battle scenarios, despite the escalating dispute between the company and the US Department of Defense. This highlights the depth of the integration of artificial intelligence tools into military operations.

It should be noted that the US administration and Anthropic have been at odds for several months over how the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) uses the company’s artificial intelligence models.
