The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement expressing its “strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks that targeted the sovereignty and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”
The statement stated that Lebanon affirms its “full solidarity with these sister countries,” and stresses its categorical rejection and explicit condemnation of any infringement on their sovereignty or threat to their security or undermining their stability.
This Lebanese position comes at a time when tensions in the region are worsening and the circle of military conflict is expanding, which portends dire consequences for regional stability.
The region is witnessing a noticeable escalation between Iran and a number of countries, accompanied by mutual accusations and threats, which has raised growing concern about the possibility of the confrontations expanding to include other regions.
