The Chinese company Honor, based in Shenzhen, announced its intention to unveil its first human robot on March 1, on the eve of the start of the Mobile World Congress 2026 exhibition in Barcelona. This step represents the company’s entry into the world of physical smart devices, going beyond the limits of mobile phones.
The company posted a 39-second promotional video on YouTube, showing the robot in black, equipped with a camera in the head and a blue light bar on the chest and arm. So far, the robot’s specifications, name, or price have not been announced. The robot is expected to appear on stage alongside the “Honor Robotic Phone” as part of an integrated artificial intelligence system. The robot is designed for use in homes and retail stores to provide daily assistance.
In addition, Honor will unveil a group of its new devices, including the experimental phone “HONOR Robot Phone”, the foldable phone “HONOR Magic V6”, in addition to the “MagicPad4” tablet and the “MagicBook Pro 14” laptop, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence features to improve productivity while maintaining elegant and slim designs.
The human robotics market is witnessing intense competition between companies such as Tesla, Boston Dynamics, Figure, and Unitree, amid significant growth in the market. A report issued by Omdia indicated that the market achieved revenue growth of 500% in 2025, with about 13,000 units shipped globally, most of them from Chinese companies.
As artificial intelligence shifts from screens to physical devices, Chinese phone companies such as Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo are investing in developing artificial intelligence platforms capable of operating future robots, with the aim of accelerating the arrival of human-like personal assistants into homes and the service sector, and keeping pace with what is known as the post-smartphone era.
