Netflix is preparing to make fundamental adjustments to its technological structure, which will lead to the end of support for a large number of older devices. The first device that will stop supporting the Netflix application is the Playstation 3 device, which dates back to 2006. As of March 2, 2026, these devices will not be able to run the Netflix application or watch content through it, after a warning message appears on the screen.
This message will show users text indicating that “the application will not be available after this date,” and indicating “a link to the Netflix website showing currently supported devices.”
It is worth noting that the PS3 is not the only one that will be affected by this decision. Rather, there are many old smart TVs that have been released for more than 10 years, which in turn will lose Netflix support.
