The Ministry of Agriculture continues to implement the “National Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccination Campaign,” which began on “December 20, 2025,” in the context of its tireless endeavor to protect livestock and support veterinary health security in the country.
The Ministry reported that, as of the fifty-fifth day of the campaign, specifically on “February 12, 2026,” the first dose of cow vaccination had been completed, as the number of vaccinated cows reached “43,526” heads on “5,405” farms.
Work also continues to administer the second dose according to the established plan, and so far “30,366” heads have been vaccinated on “2,811” farms.
Regarding the vaccination of sheep and goats, the Ministry indicated that the campaign is going well, as the number of vaccinated sheep reached “84,575” heads, while the number of goats vaccinated reached “33,519” heads, in “1,112” farms.
The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that the campaign is progressing according to schedule, thanks to the great efforts made by veterinary teams and fruitful cooperation on the part of farmers and breeders.
The Ministry reiterated its call on breeders to adhere to vaccination programs, stressing the importance of this in reducing the spread of epidemic diseases, protecting animal production, ensuring the continuity of the agricultural sector, and enhancing “national food security.”
