His Eminence the distinguished Jaafari Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Qabalan emphasized that “what is happening in the Middle East has a strong connection and influence,” stressing that Arab and Islamic interests are an indivisible whole and cannot be separated. He explained that “Tehran has a sovereign debt over Lebanon, its sovereignty, liberation and dignity,” and called for celebrating the Islamic Republic of Iran on its National Day, which he described as “forming the nucleus of the largest historical moment in the Middle East.”
In his statement, Qabalan stated that “Lebanon today is very concerned with the Iranian equation, because it is the central supporter of the largest resistance model that defeated Israel, liberated the land, and restored Lebanon,” stressing that “what the resistance presented in the last war constituted a tremendous example of legendary steadfastness.”
He pointed out that “the moment today is for reconciliation with the Arab and Islamic self, away from foreign tyranny,” considering that “any establishment of a regulatory force between Tehran, Riyadh, Cairo, Ankara, and Islamabad is likely to undermine the legacy of the Balfour Declaration and Sykes-Picot, and it is a crucial necessity to guarantee the region’s sovereign interests.”
Qablan concluded his speech by saying: “The choice must start from the East, not the West, because the West is only good at the game of influence, control, plunder, chaos and ruin.”
