Netanyahu publishes: An atomic bomb falls on Tel AvivNetanyahu publishes: An atomic bomb falls on Tel Aviv

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted an artificial intelligence-generated image showing an atomic bomb falling on Tel Aviv, accompanied by a stark warning about Iran’s nuclear ambitions, just two days before Israelis head to the polls.

The post, which suggested that internal political differences were not compared to the size of the threat coming from Tehran, sparked a sharp reaction from the head of the Democratic Party, Yair Golan, who accused Netanyahu of causing panic.

Along with the picture, Netanyahu quoted statements by Israeli writer and political commentator Yuval Bloomberg, known for his book “The Oslo Trap,” which deals with the Oslo Accords signed in 1993 and their repercussions on Israeli security from a critical perspective.

“The State of Israel faces a real and tangible existential threat. If the Iranians obtain nuclear weapons, nothing else will matter. Everything seems trivial compared to the existential threat posed by Iran and the Shiite axis,” Bloomberg wrote.

The post also reiterated that Israel has only two years, during US President Donald Trump’s administration, to address the Iranian threat, presenting the disagreements that dominate Israeli politics as distractions from the country’s most pressing security challenge.

The photo and accompanying message came as Israel entered the final phase of its election campaign, with voters preparing to cast their ballots on Tuesday.
