750 barrels of diesel to save the apple season in Lebanon

The Minister of Agriculture, Nizar Hani, thanked the American Seal Foundation, whose board of directors includes an elite group of Lebanese businessmen and women in the United States, for providing 300 barrels of diesel fuel to support apple storage refrigerators in various Lebanese agricultural regions.

Hani explained that this valuable contribution, in addition to the efforts and support provided by oil companies, brought the total quantities allocated to apple coolers to 750 barrels of diesel. He pointed out that this step aims to reduce the high cost of storage, protect crops from damage, and give farmers additional time to market their production at appropriate and feasible prices.

In the same context, the Minister of Agriculture confirmed that the Ministry is continuing its tireless efforts to facilitate the export of Lebanese apples and open new foreign markets, in parallel with stimulating local consumption, ensuring the full disposal of the crop and supporting farmers’ steadfastness in the face of the current crises.
