The Houthis announced, on Wednesday evening, that they had targeted King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with a ballistic missile, in an attack that was the second of its kind within days. They claimed that it hit the airport “accurately and directly,” coinciding with the launch of three other missiles that targeted gatherings of Saudi forces in the Ras Al-Ara and Al-Mudaraba areas, amid allegations of deaths and injuries and the destruction of vehicles, without any official Saudi confirmation of this toll.
On the other hand, the Saudi News Agency “SPA” quoted the civil defense spokesman as saying that the air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards Riyadh, explaining that falling fragments of the missile led to the injury of a resident of Arab nationality, in addition to causing limited material damage to a residential house and a vehicle. He confirmed that the specialized teams immediately began implementing the procedures approved to deal with the incident.
These developments come in a series of repeated attacks targeting the Kingdom over the past few days, including repeated attempts to target King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where the Saudi authorities have repeatedly announced their success in intercepting and destroying missiles and ballistic projectiles and dealing with their field repercussions.
