Apple announced the new generation of the Apple TV 4K device, including a system of improvements that include a high-speed processor, a voice assistant enhanced with artificial intelligence capabilities, in addition to developing the audio experience and adding advanced features to find the remote control.
According to a report published by the “Pocket-lint” platform, the new device is equipped with the “A19” processor, which Apple confirms increases the performance of the central processing unit by up to 50%, and doubles the graphical performance compared to the previous generation, ensuring super-speed in navigating between applications and playing content with absolute smoothness.
In terms of smart interaction, the device integrates an advanced version of the voice assistant called “Siri AI,” which allows users to search for movies and series and get recommendations using natural conversational language, as well as ask immediate questions related to the displayed content. To enhance this experience, the device is supported by three long-range microphones that allow direct conversation with the assistant without the need for a remote device, even during media playback, supported by precise technology to distinguish the user’s voice from ambient noise, with answers and suggestions appearing directly on the screen.
In terms of audio entertainment, the new version allows for the possibility of building an integrated surround sound system using four “HomePod” second generation or “HomePod mini 2” speakers, with the feature of automatic calibration of sound levels and timing based on the distribution of speakers within the room. The device also includes support for modern communication technologies “Wi-Fi 7” and “Bluetooth 6”, an “Ethernet” network port, and an internal storage capacity of 128 Gigabyte, in addition to continuing support for “Thread” and “Matter” protocols to connect and manage smart home devices and display surveillance camera notifications.
In a step to overcome one of the most prominent daily problems for users, the “Siri Remote” received support for the “Find My” tracking feature to accurately determine its location and issue an audio alert that makes it easy to find. The new control is available for sale separately and is compatible with “Apple TV HD” devices and previous generations of “Apple TV 4K.”
Prices for the new generation of “Apple TV 4K” in the American market start at $299. It opened the door for pre-orders on October 13, and shipments will begin and the device will be officially available in stores as of November 13, confirming the device’s role as an integrated platform for home entertainment and smart control.
