Saudi Civil Aviation is investigating an attack and injuries incident at Riyadh Airport

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the temporary suspension of operational operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, on Saturday evening, following an attack that resulted in a number of injuries, in light of the continuing attacks targeting civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom.

The authority explained in a statement that the competent authorities have begun assessing the damage and verifying the safety of the airport facilities, noting that work is underway to count the injuries without announcing a final toll yet, provided that any developments will be published later in coordination with the relevant authorities.

This attack comes after two previous attacks on the airport last Thursday, which targeted airport facilities and Saudi aircraft, and resulted in the death of three citizens, including the Saudi pilot, Hammoud bin Ali Al-Kalthami, according to what the authority previously announced.
