Two neuroscientists file a lawsuit against Apple

Stephen MacNick and Susana Martinez-Conde, professors at Downstate University of Health Sciences in Brooklyn, New York, said in the lawsuit on Thursday that Apple used what they described as illegal “shadow libraries” containing pirated books to train its model (Apple Intelligence).

Another group of writers filed a similar lawsuit last month against Apple on charges of illegally using their literary works to train artificial intelligence.

This lawsuit is one of a series of major lawsuits filed by authors, media organizations, and music companies against technology companies such as (OpenAI).

Microsoft and Meta accuse it of using their work without a license to train artificial intelligence models.

Apple Intelligence is a set of AI-powered features built into iPhone and iPad devices.
