Google has launched an innovative experimental tool for taking notes and managing meetings called “Google AI Edge Foresight,” which aims to facilitate the documentation of meetings and transform recordings into searchable texts and summaries, with an intense focus on privacy standards and offline work, according to what was reported by the “Digital Portal” website.
The new tool is distinguished from traditional cloud blogging services in that data processing takes place entirely locally on the user’s device, without the need to connect to the Internet or send data to Google’s cloud servers. The tool is currently only available on Mac devices equipped with Apple Silicon processors.
Google AI Edge Foresight offers a package of basic features, including:
- Text conversion: Convert meetings and audio recordings into accurate transcripts using AI models that run locally on the device.
- Automated summarization: Organize information contained in conversations and formulate it into clear, concise notes.
- Improve manual notes: Enables the user to write down quick and concise insights during the meeting, and then automatically convert them into detailed and organized notes.
- Interact with content: Integrating an intelligent assistant that allows the user to ask probing questions about specific details contained in recordings and texts, as well as the ability to use local files that the user links to the application.
This operational mechanism, which relies on processing audio files and notes locally, ensures the highest levels of privacy and data protection for users, according to what the “Erm News” website reported.
