The Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Dr. Muhammad Abu Haidar, participated in the opening of the Lebanese Pavilion within the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Food Fair. The opening ceremony was attended by the Lebanese Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Tarek Menamneh, representatives of the “Qoot” Association, and the Emirati-Lebanese Business Council represented by Mr. Sufyan Saleh, as well as a crowd of Lebanese industrialists, farmers and exporters.
In his speech, Abu Haidar stressed that participation in international exhibitions, specifically in Arab markets, represents an essential foundation for introducing national products and enhancing their presence. He explained that marketing Lebanese goods and opening new foreign markets is an essential aspect of supporting productive sectors, developing exports, and stimulating economic growth, pointing out that Lebanon possesses high-quality products capable of competing strongly. He stressed the need to go beyond merely displaying in exhibitions to establishing sustainable commercial partnerships, by linking the Lebanese product directly with importers, distributors, points of sale, and consumers abroad.
In a related context, the events were concluded with a meeting hosted by the Lebanese Embassy in Abu Dhabi, which brought together Lebanese exporters with representatives of points of sale and importers in the Emirati market, with the aim of facilitating direct communication and opening new marketing channels.
Abu Haidar thanked Ambassador Tariq Menamna for his support and initiative in hosting the meeting, stressing that the role of Lebanese embassies and communities represents a major pillar in building bridges of communication between the productive sector and the Emirati and international markets.
Abu Haidar concluded by emphasizing that the integration of efforts between the Ministry of Economy and Trade, diplomatic missions, the private sector, economic councils, and the Lebanese diaspora constitutes an effective platform for transforming economic activities into real opportunities, indicating that the desired goal is to crown the participations with trade agreements, export contracts, and partnerships that guarantee the effective access of the Lebanese product to the foreign consumer.
