The Beirut Municipality launched a large field campaign to remove encroachments on public property in various neighborhoods of the capital, in implementation of the directives of the Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, and to complement the efforts made to restore order to the roads and sidewalks.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Department in the municipality, it explained that the Traffic Department of the Engineering Department carried out removal operations that included obstacles such as iron poles, barrels, flower beds, abandoned cars, and other forms of encroachments that were impeding the movement of citizens and vehicles.
The campaign included the areas of Achrafieh, Basta, Zuqaq al-Blat, Talaat al-Nuwairi, Al-Awza’i Street, Ras Beirut, Al-Jadidah Road, Ras Al-Nabaa and Msaytbeh, with work continuing successively to include other streets and neighborhoods within the scope of Beirut Governorate, with the aim of restoring the urban landscape and organizing public life in the city.
